Hair algae on montipora

Quick question-
Somehow I managed to get a spot of hair algae growing on a monti cap. I know I need to figure out why I've got it growing in the first place, but what's the best way to get it off the coral? Thanks.

I would pluck it off and get your waters excess nutrients under control. Good flow always helps too.

Where is it in the middle or edge of cap?

It's more towards the middle.

Pick it off with some tweezers, then what Veni said. It should be able to recover as long as you keep it clean and tank parameters are in check. Good luck.
