I have a 20g nano with the following set-up:
Livestock:
2 false perculas
1 royal gramma
23 lbs of live rock
30 lbs of live sand
Corals:
hammer
frag of trumpet
red/green zoons
blue mushrooms
green frilly mushrooms
Inverts:
cleaner shrimp
6 scarlet hermits
5 nassarius snails
2 emerald crabs
fighting conch
2 maxijet power heads
Tetrac 300 HOB
All parameters are perfect including nitrates and phosphates
96W coralife powerquad (10-12 hours per day)
B-ionic Calcium added daily (5 ml part A and B/level of Ca is 600)
Water changes every week (20%). Just started this week switching from distilled to RO.
My issue is my constant battle with hair algae on my liverock and sand bed. What can I do to limit it as well as is there anything else I can add to my clean up crew? It is getting to be very ugly!!!!

1. How much light?
2. What kind of snails? I already have 4-5 nassarius snails? Mexican turbos, astria, etc...?
3. I do add B-ionic Ca each day (5ml per dosing instructions). Ca level is 560. Does this have any affect on my hair algae problem?

Cut back your lighting by a 1/2 hr to an hour right off the bat, followed by decreasing it until you get below, or at 8 hrs. None of the corals you mentioned require that much light. Are your lights on a timer (10-12 ?)? If not get your tank on a regiment. Also, I'd cut back on food slowly......too many nutrients in the water will lead to algae outbreaks regardless of how many players are on your cleanup team.

In regards to the clean up crew, what specifically can I add to my current crew in order to control the problem?
