hair algae

I am having a hell of a time trying to get a hair algae problem under control. I haven't been able to devote my 100% attention to it because i have been moving for a month. I purchased some macros but i haven't even been able to funneled into the tank from the ref. i took some out and stuck it in the filter hoping that would help but it hasn't yet. :notsure: any snails, crabs... eat hair algae?

the best thing to do is to try and pluck it out .... some times I see my blue legs munching on it - and I have a turbo that will eat some if it .... but generally I slip on the rubber gloves and pluck away ....
I too have been moving - I have a 20 in one location and a 29 gallon down with my wife. They feed the fish and top off the water - other wise that 29 gets little attention ..... so I will be doing a water change and some serious hair algea plucking ....
aside from getting the macro's to out compete the hair algea - in a nano there is no real way to "beat it" easily .....
happy plucking!!

well I bought some local LR from a guy getting out and so far the only stuff that has killed it has been sitting in a rubbermaid in my garage - and I'm still not sure that once I take it out of that wet dark environment that it won't grow back ....
hence my plan to not set up a new tank until I get 0 tds water out of a water purifier and to ensure my first live stock inserted into the tank all goes into my refugium!!
