Added 96w actinic & 96w prem. daylight PCs about 3 weeks ago and now have hair algae growing on LV hermit crabs and on my feather dusters tubes. Alot of hair algae!! I use tap water for my weekly 4 gallon water changes. I feed the eel & trigger small pcs. cut shrimp twice a week. Damsels are flaked food 2/day small amounts. Do I need a school of tangs, skimmer, or RO water or perhaps all of the above to rid me of the hair!!!

all the above, are good(well, except tmaybe the tang, they don't often eat hair algae, but a LMB may)
but, I also would cut back on lighting hours, and gradually increase it over a few weeks, a change in lighting will often create this proble.
Also, hwhat are your water parameters.

I have a tang, a skimmer and ro/di water and I still get the stuff!
I will try cutting back from 12 to maybe 9 hours of light starting tonight. It gets light early now anyway.
