Green hair alge g.rowing in the sand bed. What do I do? I think i'm feeding too much. One cube of thawed frozen shrimp a day.
fish:
5 green chromies
2 percs
1 lemonpeel
1 royal grama
1shrimp goby
1 valentini puffer
lots of hermits (20)
a few snails (12)
1 mean starfish
in the last 5 days I have begun feeding every other day. I have a 90 gal all glass corner overflow sump in the bottom bioballs skimmer. the usual stuff. I have had 1 scooter and 2 lawnmower blennies that have since had a burial at sea over the past 8 months. My tank is 10 months old. All the fish and inverts seem to be doing ok.
My parameters are:
t=80
Ph= 8.3
sal.=1.024
KH=8.16
Po4=0.1
alk=2.9121
ca=450
amm, trates and trites = 0
Am I feeding too much? too often?

you say ur po4 reads.01 phos but it won't be accurate. If you have hair algae you have higher concentrations of po4 than what ur reading. Run phosban consistantly and you will see ur algae die off in a few weeks
