UH if you havent cut the source of the extra phosphates feeding it your just band-aid 'ing the issue.. your tank is telling you you have to much phosphate causing the bloom.. you atleast need to look at your feeding and see what you can do with that.. the light timing just helps cut down...
are you feeding frozen? do you rinse it before you put it in the tank or do you rinse it in the tank??? (you should rinse it in tank water in a glass and throw out the rinsed water....)

I rinse PE mysis in RO DI water. I got my lr used with my tank and it was full of Aiptasias since he took bad acre of tank in general. I am fighting algae, Aiptasia and other stuff because of his care of the tank. The phosphates I checked today and they were 0 using an api test kit.

They are going to be at zero because the algae is using it all...

I cut a piece of mysis and stir it in RO DI water. I never overfeed. I can't describe the amount of god I feed...its a minute amount though.

your running your daylights for 3.5 hours and just the blue LEDS overnight? do you not have actinics too?
and your tank water is NOT good... or you wouldnt have algae everywhere....
and you could easily be overfeeding.. all the food should be gone in less than 10 seconds after it hits the water....
how often do you do water changes? What size tank is this and youve had this tank set up for how long and you have 8 fish in it???

The chromis... when did you add them?? and 6 chromis is alot of infighting sometimes they kill each other, alot of the time they are just poor shippers... but its usually best to keep them in odd numbers...

I think he might mean that they are on for 14-15 hrs. This would help cause the algae.
I would cut back the lights.

okay,,, if you saying since last year you should be okay but if from last month the .....setup for a MONTH??? no the tank has not been cycled for a while now and is UNable to handle the bioload you have added to it in that short amount of time..
HERE is a list of your issues...
cycled but added fish too fast for your filtration to handle the new load....
daylights are on TOO long at most should be run 8 hours... actinics 1 to 2 hours before and after.. ONLY moonlights at night...
cut down on food.. im not sure how much your feeding but 1/2 of a commercially available cube is enough for those fish for 1 day... you could split it into 1/4 to feed morning and night each if you want..
when adding fish to a new system no matter how large or small the biological filtration has to have time to catch up with the waste your fish are creating...

You did not rinse your frozen food, you just thawed it out. To rinse it, take a fish net and run water over the net until the cube is thawed and then run it again under RO water for the last rinse....invert the net and feed your fish.

The person at ;my lfs said to do it like that. When I rinse it , it doesnt leave the net, and will stay in the net?

as long as its completely thawed and rinsed and the only thing that goes into your tank is the food and none of the water...
