Hairy Algae

If its on the rock, yes take it out and try to scrub it off with a toothbrush or such in a bucket with saltwater. I never tried this method, but read about it. Worth a shot, I'm going to try this on a few pieces of my rock tomorrow. A lawnmower blenny worked well for my first run in with this. Since I have lost him, for no good reason, the algea is back. Also, like stated above, those factors can cause the problem, and I am still fighting those.

if you can take it out but I am not sure that I would even put it back in there you can scrub it and it can and does come back all mine did:mad: I never had any luck till I started to really test calicum and alk (kh) I use kalk it has helped so if your nitrates and phosphates are ok look ate you double check you cal and kh I had one rock that had it and I ended up with a hole tank full I have been fighting it for over a year but I am finally kicking it's butt:) :) good luck
