hairy brown algaes

Hi, i have noticed some brown hairy algaes growing on my rocks. It use to be purple only. Is this good or bad? if it's bad, how do i get rid of it?....Also, I've been reading some of the questins from other members and I dont know exactly what you guys mean when you say cleaners. Can someone explain this to me?...Thanks

Good questions:
What is the hair algae:
You have a diatom bloom (you tank has cycled and the first sign of an algae overgrowth has begun. (you can scrape it off a bit with your net edge when it's ready to come off.
Cleaners:
Cleaners are hermit crabs ($1.99 each) and snails ($1.99) You should have a lot of both to have a good basic cleaning crew.
Also important are Serpent Star fish ($12.00 each) one or two are enough.
Always have a Tang somewhere in you tank for more help.
