There will be no doubt. He'll look like something that belongs in a handkerchief...brown and what not. But be of good cheer...I think mine has died at least once a week. for the past five months or so. He deflates, gross stuff comes out, his tentacles look like spaghettti and wilty leaves...two hours later he's a sunflower again.

No. the one that died on me laid down on his side and turned brown, got small and gooey. As I said there was no doubt. I left him for 6-12 hours and he was "hovering" on the bottom and still brown. "flush" dead for sure and no more wondering. My other never acts like that...he looks dead for a few hours then looks alive again.
