I bought some haitian live rock today for a killer price and it will arrive some time this week. Anyhow I just wanted to know if anyone has ever seen or owned live rock from haities because I've never heared anything about this type of rock before this. Is it good or bad? Pros/cons? so on?? It is absolutely amazing. I finished my tank with it and wouldn't do any other type of finishing rock. My next tank will be a majority of Haitian on top of Fiji. It is incredibly light weight, and the shapes are fantastic. I hand picked mine and paid a premium to get show pieces.
The cons are that if you are buying some blindly(internet)you may get a lot of flat shelf peices that may be hard to work with when aquascaping. Although it's light weight it's not porous, which limits hiding spots. That's where the Fiji rock comes into play.
Anyway, I have 6 different types of rock and this is by far my favorite. I'm sure you will be happy.
