half undergravel and half in line filters will it work?

I am trying to start a new 125. I want to know if I can use part of the undergravel filter and half live sand and the in line filters from rainbow? I was thinking that the crushed coral and the undergravel will keep the cycle time to zero. and the live sand and the in line filters will improve the quality of the water to have better fish. It sounds good in my mind. What do you think. Please respond in any way you can.

Well I kinda asked the same question to my LFS and he said that UGF's aren't really worth it, because salt water aquariums don't really create enough of that type of bacteria that makes UGF's useful. I would just say LS and LR....and a wet dry. Thats just my humble opinion though.
