halide fun

Hey guys,
Getting a new halide system on my 75.
I would like to keep stonies and clams with no problems.
The man at the LFS is trying to talk me into a double ballast
and getting two, 250 watts. for the tank. i already have t-5 HO
I would also like to go as high as I can without chillers.
I use eggcrate for the top.

I have a Sunpod 2x250's MH by Currant. I have a 72 bowfront and the lighting is nothing short of awsome. I'm only running MH and lunars. Your tank is probably wider so you could run actinics also. With eggcrate and a fan you could probably stay away from a chiller. I have a glass top and run a 1/10 chiller and even then it only comes on once in awhile. Good luck.
