hammer coral stung my rbta

Will it survive this? I already moved the hammer coral this morning..the bta went for a stroll around the tank last night and we found it behind the hammer coral this morning. looking like this..

Has anyone ever had a anemone stung by a coral and survived?

I am not sure if the problem is the hammer coral "stung" the BTA .. if anything it should be the otherway around. How longyou have this anenome? What's your water param? type of light?

It is in my 24 gallon..I know its too small for the anemone its just a temp tank untill we fix what is wrong with our 120. The 120 is low on magnesium, and calcium. This takes some time to raise up but in the mean time the anemone wasn't doing good in the 120. We had the rbta in the 10 month old 120 for a month and a half. Sept 15 we took it out of the 120 and put it in the 24 gallon. The reason why we did that is because the 24 is doing extremely well and has been up and running for 8 months. I had a feeling the anemone would move around in the tank to find itself a spot. We put the hammer coral on one side of the tank and the anemone on the other side with live rock. I guess it didn't like the live rock and made its way over to the hammer that is in the sand. In the process of moving it was stung..I have been trying to get this anemone back to health and I thought it would do better in the 24 gallon. You are right..the anemone should have stung the hammer instead of the hammer stinging the anemone. Now that the bta is damaged ..if I can bring it back..will it grow back its tentacles?..can it survive from this damage?

If you can keep it alive, eventually it will regrow its tentcle. I have an anenome that got sucked up by power head, lost half of its tentacles, but it still alive and "slowly" it regrow its tentacles. Try to separate your anenome from the hammer head, so it can recover peacefully. Good luck.
