hanna tds meter

does anyone own this portable tds meter? i have run across them online for less than 20 bucks thought it was a little cheap. you know the old saying you get what you pay for. they are widespread online and the company makes a lot of lab equipment.

I had a hanna TDS meter, worked fine, most TDS meters run around $20.
If you are worried about accuracy get some calibration fluid and you can check it.

ok i picked up a meter and here is what i got:
tap water-175
water from safeway's glacier water machine-0
water from my new kent hi-s 35gpd 3 stage ro filter without di stage -0
question: should i buy the di stage and add it to my ro filter? what good would it do if i am at 0 already?

Yes, I would add the DI..The 20.00 Hanna TDS meters are not all that great at measuring low TDS. Mine also reads zero off the RO but I know it isn't accurate.
