Happy B-Day. 43 huh. That is old. Almost double my age. Just kidding.
On this day in 1878 the first telephone is introduced in Hawaii. In 1944: U.S. invades Japanese-occupied Guam in WW II. In 1960 the USSR recovers 2 dogs from their space capsule (the first living organisms to return from space) In 1999 after 38 years at the bottom of the Atlantic, astronaut Gus Grissom's Liberty Bell 7 Mercury capsule is lifted to the surface.
