Sorry I miss-spelled it.
LOL...You can't misspell it. It's a Hebrew word, and people just spell it like it sounds. CH in Hebrew sounds like a breathy H sound for the Hebrew letter Chet. So some folks use the H and some use a CH and the K...well one or two depending on how strong you sound the K which is a Hebrew letter Caf...LOL..I think it's was very nice to post Happy Chanukkah...Thank you!

The Spellings with x and q are certainly new ones to me! Never seen either of those before.

Wow, I also never knew that there were that many spellings of Hannukah! "Hannukah" is my favorite way to spell it.
Happy Hannukah and Merry Christmas to everyone too!

It is a tradition to tell the story of Chanukkah each year. So that I don't bore those who don't care about it to death...LOL...
Okay....Christians...Jesus celebrated the Festival of lights... AKA... Chanukkah. Just in case you should think it is only a "Jewish" Holiday. Jesus was Jewish, and he commanded all his followers to do as he did. Oh if Christians could get hold of this thought...it would change the world....Oh well.
For you guys....The story of Chanukkah is found in a Cathoilic bible and called the 1st book of Maccabees. It's a pretty awesome story of how a few men were able to win a battle over the Roman army and take back their Temple, and the goodness of G-d to allow the Temple Manorah, that was never supposed to go out...to burn for 8 days on only enough oil for 1.
Oh and I want to add this as well...The Chanukkah Manorah (9 branches)....it is different than the Temple Manorah which has 7 branches.
The center branch for the candle sits a little bit higher than the other branches, and it is lit first. That candle is used to light all the others. It symbolizes the light of faith of one, to ignite all the others. It is called the helper or servant candle or in Hebrew, Shamash....some believe it represents the Messiah...which should make you guys very interested in the tradition.
