Oh my god!!!!! After 2 and a half long months my tank finally cycled. The nitrites went from off the charts to 0, over night. What should I do now? Should I do a water change? Buy fish? Wait? Whatever, I'm soooooo happy........Thanks everyone for your help. There were times when I almost gave up....

I am so excited for you. Have you decided what type of fish you want yet? I would say go for it but slowly. One of the biggest problems arrise when we add too many things at once. Do you have a quarantine tank? If not, I would suggest you get one before you get fish, this will dramaticly cut down ich. You should quarantine your fish for at least 3 weeks before adding them to your show tank. I know this from experience. I lost my Hippo Tang with in 1 week after purchase because I didn't QT him first and he got ich. It is way harder to catch them in the big tank and you can treat them directly in the QT. Also, if your planning on adding inverts, you cant use copper. If you have LR you cant use copper either. Maybe you should start with a clean up crew from this site. They will add critters to your tank while your fishy friends are in QT. Just a Thought. Most importantly, Have fun and lots of patience.

You could do a small (20%)if you want, but it's not nedded yet.Your tank is not truly done cycling till it has an established bio system. This could take six months. In the meantime you MUST add slowly.Give the tank a few weeks in between each new addition so the biosystem can adjust to the added load. I personally would wait on adding any fish for another week or two.And wait for a water change till the nitrates get about 40ppm.
