Happy with my new fish

I found a 4-5" adult colored Red Coris Wrasse at my LFS that had just came in the night before. Against my better judgement I bought him and got him out of that LFS deathtrap ASAP.
To my amazement he was out and about on day 1 and ate raw shrimp the first day.
I'm so happy and I hope I can grow him up to 7-8" to move him to my bigger FOWLR tank, but for now he lives in my 75g FOWLR with two eels and a Damsel.
I didn't have a camera so I snapped these with my cell phone...she is quiet the looker for now. I must say I LOVE this fish. I can't wait till this little beaut is 10"+ in my large tank...hope she makes it.
I read they they may not be very long lived in captivitiy. Time will tell.

Harley - great looking fish. I agree with your tactic of getting the fish out of the lFS asap.
I hope your new one enjoys the "big boy" tank :p

Nice Harley
...Please keep me updated, I would love to do a less aggressive Wrasse, as I think I told you I am thinking a Banana right now just because they are considered hardier, and have already had a Lunare in the past.

i have the same fish he's awesome sometimes he will disappear for a day or 2 and then come flying out of the sand he's fun to watch good choice

ocean pred...how long have you had yours? Any idea of the growth rate?
Mine is about 5" but I need him to bulk up to 7-8" if he will compete for food in my 240g with the Tusk, Lion, and Queen Angel. Just curious of my timeline as I really want to convert his current tank (75g) into a single DME only tank.

I wouldn't worry all to much, my experience is that this family of wrasse are very fast and very aggressive. I got mine at 5 inches and he is probably 7 inches after a year.

i think they grow slow i've had mine for 6 mo. and he's grown 1 in. and he eats like a pig and loves to flip my hermits over he's very fast when the foods in the water i think once yours gets comfortable and over the shy stage he will be fine.
