hi guys!!!I have a 50 gal reef tank ,live stock is
-1 maroon clown 4_½inch
-1 lemonpeel angelfish
-1 firefish
-1yellow tail demsel
I would like a fish who does not hide, and can hold is own with the clown!! Last week i picked a baby 4 stiped demsel, since he was ½ inch i tought what can he do and plus i realy like the black and white effect!!So i ask the guy at the lfs to bag him for me,he never catch him! The guy told me i am going to call you if i catch him....still waitnig LOL
So huby told me we never going to come back here!!!

I canot find a fish there is always something, not reef safe ,to big,to small, and on and on!!!

try a bangaii cardinal fish...they're pretty cool looking and they got the black and white stripe effect. most fish don't pay attention to them and you can get pairs of this fish as well.

i would say to take out the damsel... also you could get a yellow wrasse or sixline wrasse or a fairy wrasse, blackcap basslet or royal gramma, bangaii cardinals (not sure how well these would do with the clown attacking them if it does) maybe a blenny too, you could get either a goby (not a scooter blenny/goby its really a dragonet type) or a jawfish (jawfish will jump if being attacked so this may not be good and u need deeper sand like 3+ inches or so)

In my tank the demsel is realy not the problem, in fact he is the victim .I would like maybe a 6 line wrasse but some people here said they have one and they hide a lot!Since the cicle of my new tank(77gal)is almost finish i am going the get the bangai for that one probably 3 to school !!

Yes it is a strong possibility,i use to go to a store and they had 4 big bangai in a tank, at one point 2 of them form a couple and kill 1 bangai,so the guy at the lfs removed the third one to left the couple alone.Idont know if it's often the case but...good point!!!!

OHHHH I feel your pain! Everytime I see a fish I like there is always a "no, because" attached to him. If I had just known then what I know now, I would have made my tank bigger. I thought 90 gallons was big enough. Wow was I wrong. I definatly would not have done reef. Too many rules, too frustrating!

Since i live in Montreal,it's not like you guys!!! We can't order online ,and i can't order in the usa! There is 4-5 lfs in Montreal because it's realy not a popular hobby here!
Makes the process of finding a fish realy frustrating!!Sometimes i make my husband drive an 1h to lfs and then i can,t make a decision ,because i dont trust the lfs !!!

i believe clowns are part of the damsel family correct me if im wrong.. but im pretty sure they are.. and i still feel like both will probably pick on the fish.. but clowns arnt that bad especially if there is a bigger tank the other fish can just swim away.. and maroons are the most aggressive/territorial of all clowns imo
