Harlequin Shrimp????

I just wanted to see how often u see your harlequin shrimp. I heard they are shy

i also heard that. i was thinking of geting a pair but heard they were shy so didnt.

I had a pair of harlequins. They only eat starfish. I would see them come out at night every once in a while but during the day they would hide in the rockwork. They need to be fed about once a month (Chocolate chip stars work fine) and if they eat it before you realize they need another starfish, they will let you know by coming out in broad daylight and roaming all over the tank looking for food.

How often would you have to toss in a quarter size choclate chip starfish for 2 Harlequin Shrimp? Do they finish it off quickly-completely? Or does it foul your water quality? I'm thinking of a species only nano for them.
