Does anyone have or know of any information about harlequin tusk wrasses? I read a web site that said they should not be kept as they are poisonous. I hope not as I was planning on eventually getting one for my aggressive tank. If anyone has had one I would like to hear any info.

I have never heard that one before. I don't think they are poisonous. They get around 9 inches maybe 10 and usually eat anything. They are a very interesting fish. Somewhat of a bottom dweller, but should stay out in the open most of the time. Small specimen tend to be shy becoming bolder w/ age and size. TJ

i have one, he is great so does lionfish, awesome fish never heard of them with poison, i think that is a bit false. they eat anything. mine was a bit hard to get eating mostly because he had a long trip here, fromn the aussie land and my niger wasnt being to nice to him. normally the austrailin species it a lot more colorful and a lot hardier, if you were to get one i suggest it be them.

I too have never heard about poisoning with this fish. And yes dlight is correct the Aussie's are the better in both color brightness and hardiness.

I just got one. It is about a 5 incher. Right now he's in a 10g quarentine tank. Normally I prolly wouldn't have done this, but it jumped out of the net and onto the floor. But right now he's very relaxed and I can't wait to get him in the big tank. And I forgot to mention it is an aussie.... I think it's worth the extra 30$ for one from that region. TJ
