Tricky situation, for which I don't really have a good answer. If you did a slow drip acclimation for about 3 hours, I think you did the right thing. Personally, I think it's a bit of a crap shoot when you buy an animal without first seeing it. I fear that you might become a victim of "buyer beware."

The seller did what they promised..it arrived alive. Hard to take given the circumstances but this is what they guaranteed. Nothing past the box opening. My suggestion is buy from a site that gives you several days...not just arrive alive. If it is still kicking they delivered as promised. To say it arrived dead is being wreckless with the truth, whcih is what you would have to claim.........DOA.
I'd not buy from them again and look for a site with a better/longer guarantee. Sorry...but this is how I see it..JMO.
Best of luck....hope the fish makes it. Understand you are PO'ed if you lose the fish plus the $.

.... is it just laeing then on it's side on the bottome of tank??.. or is it really really breating hard??.... cuss somethime ... some fish (like tangs and angels) tend to do things like that for a week or so untill they get accustomed to the tanks some... other than that.. i'd leave him in the tank for a while and take a peek at him every few hrs and see if he do better.. i mean.. it is kinda weird for a wrass to do that but hey .. u never know..
