Has anyone else seen this.

Just got off the phone with a friend and he told me something I found freaking unbelievable. He and the guy he works for where driving through our old home town and there was a large tent with a sign outside that said "Free T-shirts". Being landscapers they can always use a new t-shirt for work regardless of what is advertised so they stopped. Guess what kind of "free" t-shirts they where giving away?
They turned out to be t-shirts that had Census 2010 on them and there where "free" hats as well. This has to be about the stupidiest government program hand-out I have ever heard of and further research came up with an article that they have spent a bunch of money paying recording artists to record songs promoting the census. Just unbelievable.

lol, not to be a devil's advocate, but public awareness is kind of needed for the census. I don't nessesarily have a problem to pay to advertise it. I do have a problem with their slogan.

have to agree with the others taco. Most people don't know what the census is or what it's for. It happens every ten years for the last.... I dk.... FOREVER. and people still don't get it. I am only 21 and just took my 1st census... And I still know what it is. Grown 40 adults don't know...
Obviously, advertisement is in order.
And lol... yeah... all politics aside... I cant see how a Govn't office wasting funds is news to anyone. You don't have to look very hard to find waste in our practices. It's the America way... hahah (jk... but really)

Well, being a sane moderate independant voter, I look at government spending and waste as a little larger problem than just the current administration and if you think getting the GOP back in office is going to do more than put a Hello Kitty band-Aid on the problem that would be unbelievable.

Okay, I just want to ask everyone, would you wear a shirt that said Census 2012 for doing anything more than mowing the lawn? Here is a great idea, during census years, make any tax rebates you have due not mailed until your census form is returned, I bet you would be amazed how well it works.

I would have drawn a red circle with a slash through census and walked past just to see their reaction.
I mean it is a lot better idea than the Superbowl comercial but come up with some fun slogans or something.

I just wish they'd quit sending me the stupid notice cards, asking me if I recieved the census (three already) and two asking me if I filled it out. THEN, just the other day, I got ANOTHER CENSUS. Think another Duggar's family just moved into my house. Anyone want to come up with 10 inventive names (or is there twelve spaces on the thing)?

I agree! I did the census months ago and they are still sending me reminders. I wish they would just send me my shirt and be done with it! Another well ran gov't program ...
