Has anyone ever done a copper dip?

I'm just wondering about this because my Klein's butterfly, Tiny Tim, as ick. He is in the little tank with a little angel. There is LR, some mushrooms, little crabs and snails, a small leather and small torch coral, so dumping copper and hypo in there is a problem.
I'm asking because I'm doing this dip now with these two fish, so I guess I'm experimenting. I have them in a 2 1/2 gallon water jug, with one gallon of water from their tank and a measured amount of copper treatment.
I'll let everyone know how it goes over the next couple of weeks of doing this daily. But I don't know because I believe the fish have to be kept in the copper solution for a few weeks and the parasite may have already infested the tank.
I'm answering all my own questions  so this message has helped, in a way :)
Any other suggestions? I dismanteled my 40 gallon that was a QT. Tomorrow i think I'll go buy a little 10 gallon and get it going.
Bummer.

Terry, thanks, it was a stupid idea. I'm going to get a 10 gallon today and get it set up as a QT. I HAD a QT forever, but got tired of maintaining it and stuff and disassembled it about a month ago. It was a 40 gallon extra tank I had.
