Has anyone ever heard of this?

I was online today and came across this product called algone. It is a small packet of supposedly chemical free stuff that you put into your filter that removes excess nutrients (controlling algae), as well as lowers the nitrate levels to almost undetectable. Has anyone ever heard of it? It sound too good to be true. But if it does work wouldn't it be great? I know we are not supposed to post links but if you do a search on yahoo for algone it should come up. Let me know what you think. I'm tempted to try it but i'm not sure if I want to risk my tank.

I also saw that product while I was surfing the net one time. I also wouldn't trust it. If it really worked, then I would think that a lot more people would know about it.

I seen it also and was very curious about it but felt that if it was as good as they claim then everyone would probably be using it.
Havent tried it but would love to hear from someone that has.

i also seen the stuff, but honestly i wouldent buy it , first off theres other ways to control algae, and even besides that you want to fix that cause so it wont happen, not that problem at hand, besdiseds i TRY to keep my tank natrual as possible with few expections and i will never add a so called "meracial cure"
