I wouldn't get one if it was a baby, well you could get one just as long you have fish that wont eat it and steal its food. They are sort of hard to feed when young. I would get one at a medium size.
I have seen the babys and cute as they are and for $40 not bad, but have yet to see and Aussie, and I can tell by the bold colors. Some times the LFS just knows what it is and if the dealer is ??? who knows so when you as don't say is it Australian. Let them tell you, also the bold vivid colors, and teath are a good sign. Stay away from the others.

Definitely, although, I have never known a tusk to be a jumper - even though he is a wrasse and all.

just a q? for everyone... i personally like the aus.. tusk over the others.. but how come everyone says stay away from every tusk other then the aus??? just wondering..
(i have a indo tusk by the way.. the aus is really hard to come by in my area.. well at the time i wanted a tusk...took me over 1 1/2 year to even see a tusk to buy )...

They are hardier and have a better record for longevity in closed marine systems.
