Has anyone.....

......changed over a tank to reer ready, i.e. building a overflow and returns inside like a rr tank? My LFS has the overflow and anything else HD can't provide. Am I thinking too big, or is this as easy as it sounds? or should I just upgrade to a 75gal. rr for $310.00?
anyone?

If your talking about taking a regular tank and making it reef ready. Yes you can do that!:) Thats how I made my 90. Took the 90 and had it drilled in bottom left for 1" drain and 3/4" return. Siliconed the internal overflow in place and plumbed, walla done.

You had acrylic right? Why didn't you use that plexi-weld stuff, or was silicon just easer? I'd feel a lot better if it were welded together.

Not acrylic, Krislin, glass aquarium, had the silicone on hand. I don't think there is a need to weld it on, as long as you have clean edges to start with. I probably used more silicone than whats holding the tank together, well maybe not that much, but pretty near.
