i have an aquapod 24g. hate it water is always....ugh. i've tried setting it up many different ways. i'm thinking about cutting out the back area and drilling it. what is the back made out of? looks like plastic, wudda think?
I had the same problem on my Aquapod 24. Bad thing about those is that in order to have it nice you basically have to do a water change every week or two. I built my own stand and put a 20g sump in the bottom where I have my skimmer and UV light. Here are some pictures that might help. I drilled the hood out.
The back of the tank is glass. The back of the hood is plastic. I didnt want to take that chance.
Yes everyone. Its dirty but hey everything is still within spec
Beats me. Thats why I drilled the hood and not the glass. Hood still opens with no problems. I remember seeing a post where someone did drill a pod but unsure which one it was. Its a costly mistake if it break as these pods arent like your regular tanks found at any fish store. Being Friday already I would of told you to call Current and ask them

Maybe I'm out of line, if so, sorry, but that's not the Aquapod 24, it's basic husbandry, but that's just my opinion.

I know it is an "Aquapod 24", what I meant was it (the Aquapod 24) is not the problem. Water changes and basic upkeep are required on all tanks regardless of the brand. If you had say a Biocube or a JBJ nano and maintained it the same way, you would most likely experience the same problems.

Agree with you 100%. Misunderstood you. Sorry but yeah and those smaller tanks usually needs a lot more attention then the bigger tanks do. I have the Aquapod 24, 55g and a 125g and it goes in that same order when it comes to maintaining it.
Hey bmk... how did you make that overflow? I have the same tank and want to connect a sump as well
[edit] Oh and btw, I completely agree with the fact that smaller tanks are hard to keep stable. My 60 is a breeze compared to this aquapod. I need to go open top so I can get a small fuge area set up if I can't get the overflow to work.
You're right about that, the slightest changes can affect them in major ways. I sued to have a 75 gal, but nothing bigger than that. I always wanted a 100+ gal tank. Right now I just have a 28 gal JBJ Nano cube.
Hey bpro32, check out this thread on the instruction on how to make it. I have had it for almost 2 years and never had a problem. Its great and better than that hangon crap overflows. https://www.saltwaterfish.com/vb/showthread.php?t=288154
VALgae - Great to hear your accomplishment on this. Post photos so we can have ideas. Not much out there on the DIY Aquapods
