o man i went to the lfs today picked up a skimmer and well he said to feed my tank every 3 days so it encourages them to eat the algea off the rock.?
does this make sense to you ive been feeding once a day everyday at 8 pm it has been a little amount to a good amount depends on how hungary they are but now i am going to feed them every 3 days? do i need to worry abou thtis if i have a skimemr or shoudl i feed them averyOTHER day cus i have obtained a skimmer.

I feed everyday. If fish are not herbivores they wont pick at the rocks.

Only if they are herbivores.......if they are not they aint gonna eat the algae no matter how hungry they get. No matter what they are though I feed 3 to 4 times a week at the most, and only feed 1x a day when I do feed. I am not running a resort for them I am maintainining them ans as long as they maintain body mass and not lose it and continue to grow and look good, I have to think they do get adequate food for more than just surviving, so after all these years I just find its not needed to feed multiple times per day or every day, and fish will do just fine.

I take a single feeding for each tank and divide it into two feedings. Less waste in the tanks, and the fish stay healthy.

I feed every 2 days, I does Encourage my algae eating fish to pick at the glass and rock "Work for thier food naturally" also it cuts down on NITRATES and PHOSPHATES as well!

i was told to feed once every three or four days. i can't see doing that to my fish. i did though go on vacation for 5 days and came back and they were alive but hungry.
