This was in the news yesterday...
A giant 100-pound alligator snapping turtle, thought to be 50-years-old, is captured in a net Thursday, Sept. 9, 2004, in Fullerton, Calif. I have seen some big ones before, but nothing near that size!

Probably to a zoo. I saw one ALMOST that big at a lake once. I was like fishing, and this thing started moving, like a huge rock in the water. It was monstrous.

i have seen a few normal snappers almost that big while i was fishing talk about being scared.
