Have you ever bought live rock through SWfish.com?

Beth, my friend and I are about to order some Live Rock from SWF.com
Does the rock have to be re-cured? It says "Pre-Cured" on the website, but does it still have to be cured again or can we just put it in our tanks?
Also, do you know how close to 50lbs really get shipped in the 50lb order? Is it closer to 30lbs of rock that is received?
I pay $7.00/lb at my LFS and I could get almost twice the amount for the same price thru SWF.com

It most certainly has to be put through a cycle as its inevitable your going to have die off on the rock.
My problem with ordering LR online is your at who ever picks and fills your order to pull what you get, and it may or may not be suitable in shape and sizes you could actually use. IMHO its best to buy your live rock local if its an option and pick and choose..... I have heard of folks getting small fist sized pieces, and others getting huge chunks. Rock just varies too much in density and shape and size to mail order for my likes.

I ordered 25lbs of it from SWF. The pieces where nice, but like Chipmaker said they come in really weird shapes. I ordered 80lbs of base rock from another site and I was able to make a nice little reef. Having over 100lbs of liverock in a 55 kind of fills things up. :cheer:
