hes got a big mouth and does some pretty woerd things with it.
he takes the skinny part of the shell and holds it by tht
now i have heard of a fw stories about tangs maybe it was where when they are happy they get plyfull and move around the hermits and such to different location? is this a smiliarity at all. he dosetn seem stressed any bit at all

My tiger stripped goby use to do the same thing, i thought he was using them to build a cave, except they always walked away
He did it with empty shells also, but they stayed put, eventually he would pick them up again and rearrange them. Hubby use to say he was rearranging his furniture.

I have wrasse fish that push empty shells and small rocks around. They appear to do it to get at whatever yummy stuff might be under, or IN :scared: the shells.
I might add that it is my belief that the shells are empty because of these same wrasse.
I have seen one live hermit left, he's pretty big, and stays in the rockwork.

Gobies are different then wrasse, they are not eating whats in the shell, at least mine didn't, never lost any hermits to my gobie. I don't know why mine does it, he is happy i guess, he's been in the tank for 2 yrs, and is healthy.
