hawk fish eat peppermint shrimp?????

help i bought a peppermint shrimp and when i put him in the hawk fish went crazy trying to eat him !!!!. I caught him in time and i will take him to the lfs tomorrow if he dont die first. I didnt think the hawk would be aggressive to a shrimp. am i dumb or what ????

hawkfish will eat any type of shrimp....

yeah, many hawkfish will eat shrimp.

Try introducing the shrimp after the lights have gone out for the night. Hawkfish naturally eat shrimp but sometimes if you can sneak the shrimp in the fish won't eat it.

yeah i learned that the hard way with a small cleaner shrimp but the other three cleaners are bigger and the hawk hangs out one the rock while they go over him

i took the peppermaent to the lfs and traded for a piece of live rock, fair ttrade i guess. but better than igetting eaten by the hawk
