I didn't know urchins owuld attack corals but i don't know much about urchins either...it might be trying to clean the coral or eat algae on the coral but i could be wrong. Not much you can do besides remove the urchin or the coral from the tank and put it somewhere else..
an expert will hop in here shortly i'm sure.

well i know that zoos will get all mad if they are disturbed by movement. Im guessing that it went by the zoos and the movement made them close up for a day or 2. My zoos are always mad about something like that

I had some bad experience with pencil urchins. Not with coral but the cloraline algae. The 2 urchins stripped all the red algae from the rock, they would even get between the rock and cause a rock slide. I finally put the urchins in another tank.

why did u get the urchin in the 1st place? any purpose? i'd remove it if it was eating ur corals. i got 2 tuxedo urchins for the purpose of eating algae. they hv never touched my corals or coraline algae.

the long spined ones will strip the rock clean of everything. those zoos look pretty healthy though. they don't look bothered at all.

I'm not worried about the coraline but I wish he would leave my corals alone, the one in the pic is the only one I have left
