I had a pink and green frogspawn thaw was given to me as a just two small heads... It got to be more then softball size when a failed heater cracked and took out all my corals.
I have since got the water quality back but and it took almost 6 months to fix. I never took out the skeleton of the frogspawn, and when I hit the tank with a blue LED flashlight I saw at least half a dozen baby frogspawns growing out of the old skeleton.
Im very happy but is this common?

I would say its not that common, its well known that its possible for alot of LPS corals to procreate after a meltdown of the mother colony, but most of time people throw the skeleton away without a second thought. ITs been well doncumented in Fungia sp. Pretty cool none the less, you could frag those little heads and grow several colonies out. HTH
