Heater position

I have a submersible heater for my tank and i have a question
where should i position it? I have a nano cube and i hate having the lid stuck up so the cord can run out it lifts it up a little less than a quarter of an inch and it doesnt look too good..... is there anything i can do?

What Nano do you have? Is it the JBJ nano cube? If so, I have that one and I put the heater in the back filter compartment. There are rubber grommets in the back which are removable so you can run cords through the lid.
