Great site you guys and gals got going on..I hope to learn a lot here..Heres a shot of my setup, Not to bad! But its getting over run by aiptasias, Pretty much tryed everything to get rid of them , But seems to make them mad and spread faster:mad: I put five Peppermint Shrimp in two weeks ago and they havnt done sh*t, Do they need more time?? Think it would be a good idea to get the rock with the most infected rock out of the tank?? Thanks for any help....

anyway, welcome to the site and good luck.
if the aptasia are big, the peps probably wont eat them.

1st off, welcome to the board! :)
It may take a short time for the shrimp to eat those pesky suckers! Another way you can try is get a small turkey baster. suck up some hot water in it and CAREFULLY blow the hot water on the apatasia. Be careful with surrounding! Move items if have to. If the pepermint shrimp haven't been in there long, be patient, they'll do the trick, unless they are bigger than the shrimp ;)

is there any way you can take those rocks that are really covered out without ruining the structure of the lr. when they get that bad it might be better to just put the whole rock in boiling water. it will kill the rock, but it will also kill the aptasia. or just take them out and cover the rock with kalk paste. that way you can really cover them in it and you wont have all that kalk in your tank.

I had a problem with them too and bought 1 peppermint shrimp and it took a couple weeks but I finally saw a difference. They are not all gone but have reduced by probably 50% and most of them were bigger than the shrimp. I have never seen him actually eat them but I can't argue with the results. The ones that are left seem to close up a lot more than ever before. I would give it a little while before you get rid of the lr. If it doesn't they do sell aproduct that I am sure someone here can tell you about that you inject into them to kill them. good luck!
