My fish are fuzzy!!!!
THey were just fine yesterday and now they are fuzzy with fluffy white stuff. I have done nothing different in my tank except I added three tiny golf ball sized chunks of live rock to use for sticking my frags to yesterday.
What should I do?? Every one was just fine and now they are just so unhappy and my goby is just sitting on the rock doing nothing!
I can't get the fish out of the tank though because they keep going into the rock as soon as I open the hood. I don't want to hurt my inverts either, some body help me!!

ok, lets define fuzzy, could this actually look like they were sprinkled with salt or sugar??? if so, it is probably ich. go to the disease forum and read the first thread by beth at the top of the page. this will tell you how to cure ich.

no, not salt. Kinda grey and fuzzy like lint. I can;t get any pictures until tommorow since I am up at the college right now takiung calsses and I don't get out until about seven tonight and the film places will all be closed. My boyfriend is the one who just came up to the college (he has classes here too and we meet up) and told me what is going on.
I am so upset!!! the firefish just had one fuzzy and the poor goby is covered! He just sits on the rock apparrently doesn't move! I think he's going to die!!! (he was my first fish too!):(
What can I use to treat fungus? Is that what this is?

how would I cure it though? I don't think I'll be able to get the fish out since they hide as soon as the lid goes up.

I suggest you move this to the disease forum, the people there know a lot, and you might get a quicker answer.

yeah it's a reef tank, I am doing some net surfing for treatment. I left a post on the disease forum about the same time I left something here in the reef forum. I've only got two replies from the disease place and more from here. My poor fish!

not rubbing and not breathing hard. But they are sluggish and don't move very much. Occasionally they will pick at the rocks for food. But that's it.

I don't have another tank. Even if I did I don't have a spare heater or powerheads. The poor things look so sick! I don't think the goby is going to make it :(
is there anyway I could just use a small bucket of saltwater, medicate that, throw the fish in for an hour and then put him back in the tank?

well the little goby has just vanished out of site, so I am assuming he is dead, I looked for him all night long but no luck:( The firefish has somehow managed to get better but then I found my emerald crab dead behind the rocks. :( All the corals are doing fine and I'm sure my ammonia is up a bit.
My clownfish is doing great as usual. He loves to stick his head out of the water when I open the hood to feed him, it's so cute! At least the fungus or what ever it was seems to have gone away. It was sooo weird! There one day gone the next. . . I hope that's normal.
