There is a black filter material that you can purchase, it is coarse and does not clog up real fast like a netting will. The anemone may still wrap itself up in it, but as soon as you turn off the power it releases and has no harm. My cascade canister filter has that kind of pad...I just buy the replacements and cut them to size and use clear fish line to kind of sew it together, no needle needed, it just weaves into it and tie it off with a double knot....then it slips on and off like a glove.
I have used filters for Koi ponds as well, they work really good but hard to find around me.
I cut the powerhead to release the anemone. It looks like it is feeling better now. But one of my main concerns is what types of toxins does it release when it is 'in danger'??? ahhhh HELP!
