Am I waisting my time? Can I save this poor thing?
I want to save this coral. Is it possible? The peice is free. But my tanks cycle ended 3 weeks ago. Tank is 150G. I used Reef crystals mix with R/O water, I have 3- 400w 14000k metal halides, turboflotor multi skimmer, Pro-clear 200g wet/dry, 2- Seio M620 pumps, 2- Rio 2500+ pumps, 2- Cap 2200 pumps, 3- Maxi-Jet 1200 powerheads, 250 lbs live rock, and 140lbs of live sand. I added Kent Phytoplankton. All levels are good. So I thought it wouldn't hurt. If its possible.

If the coral has color I would say it is savable. But your tank is very new and probably does not have the stability in water perameters that this coral would need to survive. It looks like a trumpet coral, but not positive. Probably medium flow. Did it come out of a tank with metal halides? If not be careful you don't scorch it. Check for feeder tenticles at night, if you see them you can try giving it small meaty foods and see how it reacts. All this is just my opinion, so take it for what its worth. Either way Good Luck

Yes i would say its trumpet coral, very hardy. I too saved a piece from death a while back and now I have to frag it all the time cause it is growing so much! Rainfishy nailed it ,not to high of placement if you have MH and feed them they should preck up :joy: good luck
