Help Coral looking bad!!!!

My yellow finger leather leather coral is looking real bad. It was looking great on Thursday. I went aout of town until today Sunday. I had a friend feeding the fish and toping off the water evap. The PH is up to about 8.8 but all the other levels are perfect. What could caust this.
Also 2 of my feather dusters do not have there fans out. the 3rd which is on the other side of the tank still looks good.
He toped the water off very close to where the coral ant 2 feather dusters are.

do you have your lighting on timers? he may have not left them on the entire time other wise
what are some more specs about your tank?
oh man... i have got to thank you.... when i read that he was doing top-offs, i remembereda that i was filtering water in the next room..... the jug i was filling had a hole in it..... and it leaked everywhere and went thought the ceiling downstairs... luckily my parents are sleeping... *phew*... but i cleaned it up

.............take it out of the water and small it also if it starts to fall apart .......its died how does your water test?? alsoo your ph is too high
