I cleaned my tank today (24 gallon) and cleaned the glass. I shifted some sand a little. Now as the tank is setting back up it is a little cloudy but I am noticing all of my round live coral is dispensing white strings of slime looking stuff, aome almost reaching the top of the tank. Can anyone help? Have I killed all my coral and this is their last breath? My PH was at 8.1 and the salt was almost perfect. ???
Thanks

Back when I had a bubble coral he would do that but the strings were dark brown. I was told he was pooping. He did it often.

Its pretty common for corals to slime up when you are working in your tank, especially if you shift the sand and it settles on their tissue. They use the slime to remove contaminates from their tissue and to protect themselves.

Also when performing a water change if you adjust the chemistry from what they were accustomed to back to the desired range this will occur. They slime for protection.
