is this normal, i am circling the tank with (raw shrimps) about a week and a half, the ammonia won't go up it only stay below 1.0ppm, i testing the ammonia every day, and it stay the same below 1.0ppm, but the nitrite went rocket, went up to 5.0ppm+, and nitrate is 10ppm, is this normal that ammonia stay that low????? or what happening?

yes i believe it is, and actually i think it is a good sign. soon you ammo should go down, then followed by the trites. all tanks are different when it comes to how high a spike can go. i think you're in good shape.... good luck ;)

sometimes this may happen, after all starts to fall, then remove the shrimp and let it finish, do you have lr aor a dsb?? sometimes they will interfere with the ammonia spike(possibly by accelerating it), but will not hurt anything, as long as it goes up and the others do too

i only have tiny bit of lr(5lb), and some live plants, no dsb, i though ammonia was going to go up, but it wasn't.

Your ammonia went up very fast you might not have seen it, this happened to me on one of my tanks, but it sounds like you are on the down side of the cycle. Good Luck
