HELP!! Flame Angel w/ Eye problem

Recently purchased a flame angel about a week ago which went straight into a 55g quarantine that has been set up for about 6 mo. A few days ago I noticed his eye looking cloudy. Tonight it is much worse. He has been eating well: cyclopeeze, mysis and "emerald entree". I was just wondering if it could be Popeye or bacterial? At the LFS he did get caught/stuck in the net which probably could have something to do with it. I haven't tried anything yet. I know not to use copper. What about formalin? any ideas? I would appreciate any and all of your input.

btw water params are
pH 8.3, Amm 0, Nitri 0, Nitra 0, Alk 9 dkh, calc 380, phos 0, s/g 1.025, and temp 80

Does he also have a bad case of ich? It looks like his fins are torn up. Is this just the picture or does he have more going on than just the eyes? If it is just the eyes then you can treat him with Maracyn 2 for SW fish. Copper and formalin are not used for infections of this nature.

His fins are torn. I haven't noticed anything that looks like ich but thought about hypo just incase. good or bad idea. I was wondering about antibiotic food too. I thought I saw some the other day while reading. Also I was thinking his color is kinda pale. Stress, sickness, nutrition?

+1 I used Maracyn II on a longhorn with a very bad eye infection after an injury, and it cleared up in a few weeks. That was a large tear, so it will hopefully take less time for yours to heal up. Very effective stuff IMO.

Dead. Gave first dose of Maracyn 2 yesterday, but evidently too late

From the looks of that picture, the fins looks like they are shredded. Was there any other fish in the QT?

Nope. It was the only fish in there. yeah its front fins were really bad and the tail wasn't much better

I am sorry that you lost him. He must have been severely stressed from whomever attacked him and or poor conditions/handling at the store.
