sorry i have 250MH, and like i said im new to this thanks to the response i didn't think they were supposed to open there mouth that large the hole was so large i was just worried and figure due to lack of knowledge i should find the correct resources and information thanks....can you recommened a addivtive food that will be right to help feed the clam "Kent Marine Photoplankion" ?

You really don't need to feed him. Phyto once or twice a week wouldn't hurt but if you scrape your glass at all with a magnet scraper even that's enough to feed it some plankton. Also your lights alone should be enough to "feed" it.

the clam doesnt look good. its gaping a lot and the mantle isnt fully extended. was it like this at the lfs? how old is ur tank? also make sure it doesn hv strong flow going over it. clams do better with low flow.

Yeah looking again it does look like it's gaping -- my mistake on that part. I agree with checking the flow as it can irritate them.
How large is the clam?
How old is your set up?
What did it look like at the lfs?

YEAH, gaping means it might need to be turned to the right 1/2 and inch. In my MANY..........MANY clams that I have kept, gaping has never been a sure sign of anything unless it is followed by several of other things, which I see none of. Clams, in my experience, are not very fond of larger gravel like that. Croceas especially have "sensitive" pedal tissue at the bottom and the clam can sometimes accidently pull in larger chunks of debris.
I won't guarantee anything, but if you sit it on a piece of rock or something flat or sand and turn it probably 1/2 an inch - it will most likely be fine. Did the tank it came from have a sand bed? Like finer sand and more powerful lighting?

no i placed it more closerer to rock work so the rock work breaks alot of the flow its as low flow as its gonna get ......i have two 530gph pumps on my two HOB skimmers two prizm pros, then i have 3 hyrdo koloria 4s running and the out put from my canister filter....the hydros are pushing 1250gph1
so it looks like this for flow rate
1250
1250
1250
530
530
225
= 5035gph in a 135g is this over kill its six feet long

No. You don't have too much flow.
How is it looking after being in the tank for a few days?

strong flow is fine as long as its not directly at the clam, or preventing the mantle from extending.

Crocea's Like a higher flow. Candycane breeds these like he said you needed to turn the clam 1/2 turn into the flow according to your first pics. And put it on a rock. Im glad the pic and vid helped I have had mine since june and its put on a lot os shell and increased its color and mantle size. Hes happy.
