Help - Ich

I had a hippo tank in my QT for just over two weeks, I had the opportunity to get more LR and do some aquascaping. I have a hawkfish, sailfin tang and a tomato clown for 3 months, my tank is 125 with over 100lbs of LR and a few soft polyps. That said, the hippo was doing great so in an effort to reduce some territorial issues, I moved him into the DT. One week later and the ich has arrived
. The fish is doing well eating and swimming normally.
Getting her out of the tank will be almost impossible, too many nooks and crannies to hide, and hippo tanks jump at any movement. I began introducing garlic extract - I know I should have waited!
Any practicale advice. Thanks:

Do you want to remove all of the fish and treat them? If so then you will have to either trap them or catch them while they are asleep.

the challenge will be netting, at the very least the hippo tang. she's found a hide out that will make itimpossible to capture absent removing the rock. I hear you but this has really turned into a nightmare. thanks

Does she eat well yet? Put some food into a bottle. Tie a string to the bottle and lower it into the tank. When she goes in to eat, pull the bottle out.

the hippo is eating fine, but so are the other three fish and the hippo is usually the last one to the dinner table!

Use a bottle that the sailfin cannot fit into or remove the sailfin first. The hawk should be easy to catch. Mine will take food from my fingers.

That is great! You will have to treat all of the fish though. They have all been exposed. If you do not then you will be returning the hippo to a tank full of ich. What sized qt do you have?

The QT is only 10 gal. Since the hippo hasn't shed the parasites, can I wait and watch for the next 6 weeks. If I understand the ich life cycle, they only are contagious until the parasites leave the host and multiple and the cycle continues. Withouta Host the cycle ends, and that could take a couple of days up to six weeks.

The hippo got ich after it was in the display for a week. There is ich in your display. If it was not there before the hippo was put in then it sure is now. A ten gallon tank will certainly not do. Can you set up another tank for the other fish?
