Help ID Angel Fish from Costa Rica

Last week I was snorkling on the Pacific, Guanacaste side of CR. The name of the beach was Playa Giones Sur. My brother and I have kept marine fish on and off for many years. We separately spotted a pair of Angel fish. Their behavior seemed to be protecting a nest. Their shape and colors reminded us of a Koran Angel except: the main color was dark black, the stripes were a bright red (not as many stripes as the Koran) and the outline colors were a neon blue. I've been surfing the web for the last 90 minutes with no ID help. Can anyone assist us in finding the name for these beautiful fish. Seeing them was one of the highlights of our trip. Thanks!

I know that regal angelfish are found in Costa Rica...it kinda sounds like you may be describing that fish (are the stripes vertical, horizontal, or circular/semicircular)?
The closest match to a Koran would be the Imperial, and both of those resemble each other as juvies.
