Looks like some species of filefish to me.
Here is a tasseled file fish Chaetoderma pencilligera for marine center.

Acreichthys tomentosus
(Bristle tail Filefish). Commonly called Seagrass or Jaded Filefish.
What do you know about them? anything bad? I read that most Filefish will pick at coral... he has never that i have seen...

Try raising a bunch a well back that were washing up on the shore. Did great till the heater crapped out and sent the tank to over 100°. Didn't smell good...

Keeping one, they get about 6" or 8", and if you can't tell by looking at them, they are pretty closely related to triggerfish. Bristletails are some of the less aggressive files though, and should leave most coral alone. Nipping here and there is probable. Inverts and stuff are at a slight risk.

Wow - I'm amazed. I haven't been on this forum that long but I have never before read about a hitch-hiking fish! Some people have all the luck. What do I get? A HUGE flatworm that I can't find again, but knowing he's in there is sorta creepy.
