I started on it already
About 6" tall 3/4 oak all around 3/8 lip on top for egg crate
(I know 6" is a little short for canopy but the wood was cheap)
1: how long are 48" or 46 1/2" bulbs with waterproof end caps on them?
(Can someone please measure this and tell me what kind ot end caps you have)
2: If I get mh bulbs 2 x 150 de how far from the water do they need to be And do they need a glass shield how to mount them if I have a open top. With a reflector of some sort?
(I really don’t want light to shine up to the ceiling)
Tank info (some day a reef tank now just saltwater fish)
60 x 24 x 21 about 48 for viewing 12in on the end is sump to hide stuff.

In answer to #1. Get the lights first and measure them your self. Sorry if it sounds crass but, measure twice cut once.
