Help in choosing right size pump?

I have a 225g with a 55g sump/refugium. I was looking at the ViaAqua 8000 as my main pump. It would be about a 1o foot loss with the UV and plumbing to the main aquarium. It pumps 2200gph, so I figured with the amount of loss due to plumbing the whole project in the end would be sufficient. Any thoughts?? Thanks!

Its a FOWLR with 2 powerheads in the main tank. Oe Xtra large powerhead and a small one, don't now the exact gph they individually push.

I do not know about the brand. It says it can be used as an internal or external pump. Personally I would consider a Mag 24 or 36 if in the sump or a Sequence pump if external. I have found both these brands to be very reliable.

So for my setup what would be the best amount of flow as far as GPH? Along with the 225g tank and 55g sump, water will be flowing through my 40 watt UV, which recommends at least 2000gph to work effectively. Can anyone elaborate which area of GPH range I should be in?

In a FOWLR I would shoot for a turnover rate of about 10X your total water volume. Personally, I would slightly oversize the pump and either put a ball valve on it to decrease the outflow or a 'T' in the return line to funnel any 'excess' flow back into the sump/refugium.
